I believe I am showing some flair in engineering.. My design for lab circuit is much simpler than some other people's and still simpler than the simple ones. *grin* A big 1 for Pangy, nought for the rest.

But then again I don't have the CAP score to show show.

Doing breadboarding and using my wire stripper and pincers make me feel so 'engineer'! Haha! My sis said in retort, "Then I must everyday tell you that I feel 'Literary' or 'English' ah?"

Doing breadboarding isn't like reading notes and doing tutorial.. it's hand-on.. that's why it feels like real engineering..

No Java lab for this week, going to have Practical Exam 1 this saturday. At least a break from confounding logical errors, but no break from tests...

Signals E-test on wednesday, Prof Ko claimed that even if we managed to bring the whole NUS library to the lab with us, we would still find it difficult. So much for encouragement.

Sociology test in thursday, lots of long long interesting-turned-boring reads. Perf says "
Perf (11:04 PM) :
wah.. tot this kinda thing is smoke 1?
Perf (11:04 PM) :
jus bring a bomb lah
"

Went to watch Pirates! of the Carribean. Nice visual effects when the undead pirates jumped in and out of the moonlight and changing from undead to human seamlessly. Very good visual impact when they crept up on the British flagship by walking under the waves, brings out the mystery, fear and fantasy of the living dead. But not as good as Tolkien in LOTR (I mean the book) as he describes the Nazgul and the reactions to it from the folk of Middle Earth. One for Tolkien, nought for POTC.

The British navy men seem to have no fear of the undead! Which is quite surprising as the sight of walking skeletons should be the stuff of nightmares. Even hardened soldiers would have to gather up their balls to come face to face in combat with. Veteran soldiers might have stared death in its face but how many have stared at Death staring back. Not many I reckon.

The portrayal of being undead as a curse was quite well done.. with Captn Barbosa's little speech about how food stopped to satisfy, drink no longer quenched thirst and bodily pleasures fail to slake lust. Tolkien didn't show that in the book, most prob because the Nazgul never spoke. I guess that's a tie maker for POTC.

While I like reading and watching movies and even playing games that feature the skeleton undead (think LOTR book and movie, Undead race of WC3), Ade is into vampires and their lackey wolf-men. We are quite a pair I say..!

The Java Midterm Test today was surprisingly easy. I almost completed the paper in half an hr.. then went back to try again the bothersome recursion mcq..

As a result of the 2 heavyweight tests, I now have lots and lots of backlogged work.

Hhmm.. this thursday doesn't feel like the last few thursdays. Must be because I already completed Java lab.

EE2012 Midterm was horrible..
The rain was horrible.
Quite a bad day in general except that because of the rain I got car ride home with Ade :)

Basic Theory is so easy.. but I got 2 qns wrong. One is about a person with Class 3 lisence can drive up to how heavy a vehicle. The other is children below what age must be put in a child restrain. Think I might have gotten another one wrong. There are 3 vehicles at an uncontrolled junction, who gives way to who? I remember very clearly it's always give way to the right, but when I was thinking back about the qn, I forgot if they drew arrows to represent the intended paths of the vehicles cos that'll make things a bit more complicated than just my golden rule "Give way to the Right"

I think it's damn funny the vandalism in the question book. It seems to be racially targeted vandalism. I don't mean outright racist remarks or depictions. Rather a more subtle and sinister show of racism.

Every question and respective answer choices are printed in 4 languages English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. ALL, all the Tamil options are ticked for a whole lot of questions. If it doesn't seem clear to you what I'm thinking about, I shall explain. It seems to me that people of other ethnic groups are intentionally trying to mislead the Indians, thinking that the Indians are unable to get the correct answers by their own effort and would require such unsolicited help. It might also be that these vandals think that the Indians are gullible or naive and unsure of their answers that they would be swayed to change their original choice to the choice 'suggested' by the vandals.

It could be the other way around also. Indians who have used the question books, sought to give their fellow Indians an unfair advantage over the others by ticking the correct answer to the question. Other people of the other ethnic groups who then later use the question books, think that it is very unfair and proceed to tick everything so as to confuse them.

Anyhow, I amused me quite a lot. I was also slightly thrown off in that I had to double-check that I actually wanted option A and not that I wanted options B or C and got distracted by the tick at A.

Still, the questions were so easy, at 1st reading you'll know the answer. Except for those 2 that I really forgot and got wrong. I finished the paper in only about 20 minutes.

Adeline's my lucky star for the BTT. Before the test we were talking about a few things in the BTT handbook. The road sign for "Two way traffic across a one way carriage", the TP hand signals, single zigzag line on the road side, "One way traffic (Vehicles may turn right or left where possible)" and they were all tested in my question booklet. Adeline, you brought me luck!

Taking Basic Theory tomorrow loh.

Today an Eurasian looking chiobu wanted to talk to me in the Sci canteen!
I was in the canteen at about 1.20, sitting in the 'reserved for staff area' and calling up some of the guys to see if they having lunch. I was sitting at one of the 2-seaters then a pretty looking face stepped up from the small grassy incline and seemed to give me a smile. I was still on the phone listening to the dial tone and didn't pay her much attn.

After a few more rings I hung up and looked around wondering what to eat. Then there she was, the pretty thang, she seemed to have loitered around for a few mins waiting for me to put down my phone. She approached me with a sweet smile and asked "Excuse me, are you a Science student?" Dang it!

I smiled back warmly but shook my head. Man.. can't help wondering what she wanted to know from me. Don't dare to fake it.. would be a difficult situation if she wanted to ask some odd thing that only the Science students would know..

Today's Making Sense of Society lecture was quite funny, the lecturer was Haddis (I think?) and the topic was Power and State.
He pointed to a girl and said "You're under arrest!"
The girl nodded.. then Haddis laughed and said to all "She's gullible!"
We also laughed a bit.
Then he pointed to her again and said "I'm going to handcuff you!"
She said okay and everyone laffed louder.
Then haddis said "Oh dear, don't you let any man handcuff you!" *ahem*
"At least you should make sure they're in uniform!" *ahemhem!*
"And in the right uniform!" *ahem hem hem!!*

I should go and kowtow to my FM radio, my hifi set, my handphone and my computer.. the engineering behind these things are so complicated! Maybe kowtow a bit more then the engineering genius will osmosize into my brain.

Did you know that your handphone is unlikely to get any shorter in length until some communications engineers devise a new way to transmit and recieve voice signals?

The technological improvement from AM to FM requires as much genius as something like the power of flight?

The computer is really a miracle of digital electronics. Just think of the humble keyboard. How the hell does the computer know what to do when you press each key?

The world won't be the same after I graduate from NUS Electrical Engineering.. Engineering really kills the romance in the world...

Yes the cycle starts again. Java Lab.. still doing it now.. just posting something to keep the post on the correct date.

Contemplating deleting all the weekend posts.. but.. nah.. maybe not.

I was late 5 mins for today's DD Midterm.. the paper seemed daunting at first.. but I calmed myself down, caught my breath and skipped around for the easier qns and qns that I readily know the answer to.. then turning back to the skipped qns I had some thought of giving up cos time wasn't very suffcient for me to slowly think.. but I exercised some will power calmed down and attempted them anyway.

I'm eating chocolate in an attempt to feel better. No, nothing bad happen to me but I feel like I need to indulge myself in something. Chocolate is in some abundance at home so I'm eating it. If I had X at home I'd have popped one. Then flunk my DD midterm tomorrow becos I got high becos I got high Funny song that one.. Because I got high. I want my one week break to get high and silly!!!

I suck.. only the last section in a choc bar and 1 Kit-Kat and I feel a little raspiness in my throat. Argh.. my body can't even let me enjoy a little chocolate.

Anyway I think I don't know how to indulge. Afterall, I am a stick in the mud engineering student. Always work work work work. (yes joycie pig I know I wrote sick in the mud when I was talking to you over icq just a moment ago.. but...)

Today's DD tut we had another class test. The qn said 'Hint : write out the truth table' and I went to do the Karnaugh map.. Where did my brains go man.. so funny.. I was sitting in the 1st row then my tutor see that I been sitting there blur-look on my face for about 5 mins walked over. Then he said to the class, "The hint is to write the truth table, not the Karnaugh map." *slap forehead*

Sometimes I feel like I can't describe myself in terms of myself. You know what I mean? I have to use events, things and other people to describe myself. It's almost as if I can only describe this gap in space and time as me by describing what are the entities that lie at the edges.

Got a lift to school from Ade.. thank you so much dear! Even more so because it suddenly rained so heavily at school.

Probability is getting really scary. Need to do 2D even 3D integrals to find the probability of certain functions...

During Java lecture today, some guy 2 rows down of me was playing Quake3 on his laptop and caught all my attention haha! Then he changed to playing the old Wolfenstien! Woah man that is an old title.

I managed to bring my focus back on the lecture proper and learnt about stacks. Push and pop and topAndPop...

Went to canteen after lecture to pass Tanny my test papers for Chemistry in Life Processes. Such a smart girl like should have absolutely no problem aceing that easy module. That's unless she kenna lousy project team mates like me and Ben got... of all the modules I've taken that must be the only one I could have and I thought I could have gotten an A for. Heck I even finished the final exam a little before half hour before time. Haha.. before the paper Ben and I were saying we aim to finish the paper in 1 hour. The paper turned out just a little bit more difficult than expected.

Eh Tanny! If you're reading this, even if next week and next next week friday we take turns to have lab dun mean you don't owe me that catching up session! Hopefully some other day in these weeks...

Sat around in the canteen with Angel and Youkai. Just sat and slacked.. then Youkai took out his laptop and we helped him check his java lab code. Tanny left for class with her friends and Angel also had to leave for class. I hung around awhile more to give Youkai somemore help with his code.. but still couldn't fix all the problems. I went home too cos I also have problems with the Online Judge.

Fixed the prob at abt 540.. see same day post.

Today is thursday. It seemed like last Thursday was just yesterday. You get that feeling when you're either really busy or you're having tremedous fun. Guess why I have that feeling? Yessh.. no prizes for guessing correctly, I have been super busy. Do a quick recap..

last thurs I wasn't feeling super busy but I had quite a lot of work and self-studying to do, I also hadn't had the time to read for my Soci lecture.

Then friday was a long day cos of lab. Hey.. I did get out to walk about on my own that day.

Saturday I slept in to get rested and woke up studying more Java. Went to get a haircut and gave tuition and came back study somemore.

Sunday, gave tuition then had lunch with ade, came back to study and had dinner myself and tried the tutorials for Monday.

Monday, Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java
lab Java lab Java lab Java lab

Tuesday, crashed CE lecture, Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab Java lab

wednesday, gave make up tution, came back had big dinner as celebration for my Sis's bday on Saturday, Ade and sis's bf also came. Then more Java lab.

and suddenly it's thursday again and I haven't done my readings.

Saw Thomas as he got off the 96 that pulled up at Forum busstop, asked me to give his 'dear', Angel some help in Java. I said I will.

Then before my bus came, TuckWeng walked up to the busstop and we went to SOC together. Today I didn't try to be smart like last week, I didn't cross the road to take the bus for 1 stop. I simply got on to the 95 that arrived at the busstop at the same time as me.

Went out to Sim Lim to buy printer ink, chop chop affair and on the way down I saw Wenwei. So coincidental, the last time (long ago) I bumped into him was also at Sim Lim.

Now I'm just wondering why my Java proggie crashes when I send it to the Online Judge....

My horoscope yesterday as predicted by Streats is that I would be tempted by a 'guilty pleasure' and that I should check my conscience before stepping up to recieve fate's 'bounty' and also a warning of a few days of hardship should I give in to this 'guilty pleasure'. Hhhmmm ... but I wasn't tempted at all by anything!! Argh so sad... LOL!

But this morning I gave in to a temptation! Right in my own bed! Haha.. no, I didn't have anyone overnight.. (could be good though.. Oh Behave!) I fell back to sleep as I turned off the alarm clock. Yeah and I woke up half an hour later.. I rushed out without breakfast and got to my 8 am tutorial with George at 820 am. That somehow doesn't seem like the kind of 'guilty pleasure' I was 'promised' LOL!

Then went PC Centre to slack around and post on my Soci tutor's forum and left at 1 pm for lunch. I'm guessing that the canteen would be less crowded at that time. Sent out a big bunch of sms-es to ask pple to join me for lunch but no reply was positive. I saw Ailian again outside the PC Center and told her how proud I was about becoming proficient at Java haha... small house meet big house haha...

Really bumped into Xuhao and Yanqing in the Arts canteen (I went there cos I'm really bored of Engin food.. wanted to have jap) then Xuhao haven't eat yet and they were going home, I went with them and ate at BK with Xuhao. Xuhao regaled me with stuff he learnt in his modules but I can hardly do the same for him of my modules cos I don't even understand most of this bull!

Happy Birthday to Ben! Happy Birthday to Ben! Happy birthday happy birthday! Happy Birthday to you!

Attended a CE lecture today just for the fun of it. It was great being in the same LT as Ben , Hongwei and Mike again! Wahaha.. the good old days of Mcinnes, Ang KK, Elangovan, Diptri, Heng Aik Koan and lattes from the small cafe outside LT7a (it's Pavilion if I'm not wrong). Jiaxuan and Yanli were in the LT too but sitting in the other block. Fasi and Sayadi were there too haha!

The lecturer was supposed to be Dr Chew but I think it was their TA Constance who was giving the lesson today. CE lecturers seem to treat the CE peeps as little kids, always telling them the most obvious things to look out for. "If you don't know what this button will do, just leave your cursor over it and then a description will come out" said Constantine. Dr Chew was trying too hard to be funny "I wasn't listening much.. I was doing my own emails just now ah.. so I don't really know what Constance said about the diagram. So you see you should listen attentively in lecture"

This might be an inaccurate portrayal of the CE course but EE lectures are much more mind boggling and quiet and serious. Nobody makes any noise, lecturers stop or tell people off when the noise level is just that wee bit high. Lectures start on the dot of the hour and end on the dot of the 45th minute. Students sit up close to the lecturer but in the CE lecture, the front rows were quite empty.

Happened to be on the same train as David this morning, he was sleeping so soundly I didn't wake up him. Then he woke up at Raffles Place and I called him and the seat beside him just got vacated and I sat down. He was going to Chinatown to meet some friends so we talked a little and he had to get off at Outram Park.

The Science canteen is hopeless. I went for Prog Lab so that I had something to do as I gave the lunch crowd a miss. Yet when I left the lab at 2, the Science canteen is still hopelessly full. Science fac is a place where normal rules don't apply. Had to take bus back to engin to have lunch. Was on the same bus as Peishan, wah bump into quite a few people today.

From CS1102Y module forum
---------------------------------------------------------------
Untitled
Java, package, class and methods,
None in 'C', which is my beloved,
Gone! Are the days where we use pointers,
OBJECTS are the new-age survivors!

Forget 1101C,
Oh, what irony,
'C' a pre-requisite? haha,
To a course in Java!

Here in the forum the students moan,
While some TAs reproach their groans,
Bravado! To the first who spoke,
He's indeed a courageous bloke!

Never it is my style to complain,
Will never want my grades to be slain!
Here we are all on the academic train,
Who's willing to be dumped in the drain?

Well indeed, Java's hard to pick up,
But hey, it's just a small hiccup,
Think of the future benefits, yup,
Your market value would go up, up, up!

Employees,
Most of us are soon to be,
To the employers,
We not only know Java but also 'C'!

Perhaps, ECE's confident,
That we are all bright students,
With remarkable intelligence,
And hence will pull through this module,
With due diligence.

Before I end,
Happy and content,
I wish all the best of luck,
To pass this module at the very end.

Then...a sudden realisation!
Where the hell's my Indentation??
Oh heck, it's just my imagination,
This is not a lab program for online submission.....

Now is past 6 pm liao and all my work for the next wk haven't do.. been studying Java and do reading for Making Sense of Society. Maybe I should stop reading for Making Sense and do more tutorial, the readings for Making Sense are even longer than the readings I had to do for Intro to Political Science. Think I'm gonna stop doing tut for awhile eventually too haa... got 3 tests to study for all coming up in 2/3 weeks.. Digital Design mid term, Basic Theory and Probability mid term 1. 16th, 23rd and 25th respectively.

Youkai and Augustina tell me that the Digital Design tut (I'm supposed to do for tomorrow) is very difficult, dunno how to do like the Probability 2nd tut. If it really is that difficult....

Went to get a haircut today. Decided I had enuff of Pointers and their shoddy work. The last time, one of their guys cut my hair into a ball shape... so horrible. So I went back to Storm. Last time I had my hair cut by this guy Ivan so I asked for him when I went. He asked "I wasn't the last to cut your hair right?" Haha! I think my hair must have qualified as disastrous to him! Doesn't mean my hair is not messy now, it's still messy but $20-messy instead of $10-messy! haha...

Long day today, from 830am to 945pm. This morning something happened to the MRT I think, bcos the trains that arrived were so full! Overheard (not exactly) a woman complain to one of the SMRT guys that she was unable to board the last 4 trains! Then alighting at Clementi, I saw Mike. Mike told me at Pasir Ris, he had to queue from White Sands!

The day was quite fine, quite until I was discovered by none other than Ade herself during my lunch rendezvous! With me were the lovely Angel and Augustina and I was caught in the act! Haha.. before too many imaginations run wild, I should fill in the details about what happened.

After my tutorial, I met Angel at E4 to go to Sci to have lunch together with Augustina who also finishes Java tut at 11 at SOC. Then we were eating and we finished eating and were going to clear the table. I picked up my tray and just as I stood up, someone called my name and it was Ade! I froze for awhile and in that awkward position, I was 'caught in the act'. Haha.. and you thought there was going to be a juicy scandal..

==============================
actually Blogger timed out on me but I had most of the above already written down and saved. Now I'm feeling damn tired about retyping the remaining long long post. Typing on Word now..
==============================

After lab, I checked my hp and received a sms from mum. It says 'No dinner at home. Eat before coming home' Ai... so sian.. eat alone. Today first time in a long while I'm having a meal not at home nor in canteen. Dunno where to go and what to eat. Usually when I'm eating alone, I like to pick something nicer so that it eases the boredom. But now I can't think of what nice thing to eat thanks to my no-life life.

Just anyhow hopped on the eastbound MRT and let it take me where it will take me. I decided to get off at City Hall cos can go so many places from there. Then after getting off the train I tot I'll have beef noodles..

I saw Zhonghan in the food court. He was finishing the last half of his food but I joined him anyway. I also called him by the wrong name! I called him Zhiheng! Haha.. now I'll probably never forget his name. Zhonghan.

Thought about going to Esplanade after my beef noodles, but at the escalator down to the MRT station, I saw my other sp Dawn and Michael Pak! Dawn says this place is quite a meeting place cos they bumped into their friend just awhile earlier than bumping in me haha..

I walked to Esplanade and the stuff put up on the walkways to Esplanade didn't interest me. Usually they have some things up that interest me. Today they put up photos of bands and their members. Totally uninteresting to me.

I went up to the Esplanade library, shucks, I'm going to the library so often. But Esplanade library not so bad lah..I took 3 Stan Getz cds and went to a listening post. I like Stan Getz. I didn't sit and listen to all 3 cds, not because I didn't want to hog the machine but cos while listening to the nice music, I looked out of the window and saw people on the roof! Hey that's one place I haven't gone to. So after a few songs, I left the place and went up to the roof.

The roof isn't very nice lah. Nothing much to see except the mouth of the Singapore River. I rather be down there than up here when it comes to the river mouth. I like Merlion Park. Can sit right at the water's edge and hear the soothing splashing sounds as the river splashes on the steps and there's always a breeze. That time me and the tpjcchoir peeps went down at 2 am and it was wonderful! Would be great to do that more often. But then how often does one have money to book a rm at Marina Mandarin?

Then there were 3 bird-brained male performers in bright pink bodysuits! They also styled their hair like rooster combs! So funny! They seem to be playing 'Follow the Leader' walking in the same way and one after another! The leader stepped onto this low low wall kind of thing and posed quite like Raffles and the other 2 guys followed suit one after the other! Hahaha! Then they spotted a member of the public that was standing quite near by and watching them. So the leader walked over the the man and stood very up close. The paiseh Singaporean briskly moved away to continue watching them from a safe distance. Too bad I'm not down there! I would join them play their 'Follow the Leader'! Such a PANGY thing to do!! Haha! Maybe one day I'll go there in a funny costume and be at my pangyiest!

I was going to go down again when I heard something like singing then I crossed over to the other side and then I heard what sounded like Budak Pantai singing David Tao's songs. Yeah.. it is Budak Pantai singing David Tao's songs. I took out my Bat-gun and shot a swing rope at the marina sq roof and swinged over.. yeah rite.. I walked.

David Tao's coming to Marina Sq to have an autographing session and Budak Pantai is entertaining the fans. Although Budak Pantai is a widely popular acapella group in Singapore or even the region, I don't like their singing sometimes. When they all come in together singing 'ah' or something, there is no balance! Everyone is clamouring for attention and wanting to come out on top and what results is a blare of cacophony! Sometimes their choice of vocal percussion also very weird and even horrible sounding. Yah also their lead singer's awful pronunciation of Chinese lyrics. I think they're not very good. I prefer the more choral like type of acapella, where there is more blend.

Budak Pantai sang their horrible rendition of Sha Tan (Beach) yucks... sounded like crooning to me, but some other song was quite ok, I forgot the title. After they sang their songs, I went on into Marina Sq. I went to the GV to watch trailers and it was only then that I noticed my hp switched itself off cos the batt was flat. I switched it back on then received a sms from Ade saying she also had no dinner and we could have dinner together. So I found a public phone and called her back to find out that she had already set dinner with weijian.

What followed from here was me going to Suntec and walking around but not for long because the burden of my java text in my book was getting to me.. I went home at abt 845pm with aches in my legs and shoulders.

Please move towards the centre of the cabin
This morning's train was crowded as usual but there was this man who was standing near me who wasn't considerate enough to move in. While the rest of us packed ourselves closer, he didn't try to make more room for more commuters. He left a small island of space in the train.

Oops I .. pangyed again..
After java tut at SOC today, I didn't squeeze on to the 95 that arrived as I also came to the busstop. Instead I spotted the shuttle service C across the road and thought 'Hey I'll be smart and take the bus up to the 96 route and take 96 instead' I quickly crossed the road and just managed to squeeze onto the small shuttle bus. Just as the bus was moving off, I saw across the road, a new aircon 95 had arrived! DOH!!

Someone the pressed the bell for the bus to stop at the next immediate busstop and I thought 'Hey I'll act smart again and drop here, cross the road and take the next 95 and now I'm one busstop ahead, I'll beat the crowd!' Luckily it was a rather smart move, saving myself from committing another 'pangy'

I like big butts and I cannot lie
I dun mean that kind 'wide, son-bearing hips' but I mean nice shapely pert 'Baby got back' bums! Noticed that there are many fine fine bums in NUS.. ooohhh.... not as many with nice ba-dang-dangs though! Haha! Can't help thinking that it's more comfortable to walk around with my head tilted slightly down because it's the more natural position if you think about our spine's lumbar curve haha! yeah.. :p (If too many people are reading this, now is a good time to let me know by adding a comment!)

Went out to Tampines library after dinner. Went to find more books on Java... can't help it lah.. really need to be nerdy on this one. Found a really thick one and it's good! Got comparisms to C for everything in Java! Easy to understand man.. but the Tampines copy is not for loan.. so going to Bedok library tomorrow to borrow the copy there.

This small piece of rubber from the sole of my left-foot sandal fell off during lecture when i sort of dragged my heel against the carpet floor.. I picked it up and pressed it back in, making a mental note to glue it steady when I get home. Later after lunch with ade, I got lost looking for my lab venue. I ran around and after finally finding the place, I crossed my left leg on right knee then I noticed that the piece had fallen off! So now there's a groove under the heel of my left-foot sandal.

Saw a Lexus coupe on ECP while on Ade's car back home. Read in the Motoring Asia mag she bought from Shell that it costs 296K. Then saw that the Maserati Spyder is 460K.. kao... can buy 5 Nissan Marches. Lexus RX300 is 164K.. the mag doesn't list the price of a Toyota Harrier.. but I hope it's like 30K cheaper.. then I can hope to own one without having to wait too long.

Sweet dreams are made of these
Just wondering what's my starting pay going to be like. How long I gotta work before having enuff savings to get married with Ade, how much more to save for honeymoon, save for new house, save for furniture, then save for car. Looks like a damn long time to me. Guess the Nissan March will have to be our wheels for very long, almost all 10 yrs of it's COE. That'll last till 2013, which is about 7 years after I graduate. Say my first 3 yrs saving put on wedding and maybe enough for flat also, maybe another year. Wah... then the March will have another 3 yrs left on COE, by then it would hardly be worth much, say 20K? Will I have enough money to afford the next set of wheels if I want a RX300 or the cheaper equivalent Harrier?

Hhmm study my maths and digital design and signals 1st... book basic theory test date first.. get my CAP up 1st..
sleep first.... nodding as I was reading Kreyszig just now.

Thank you Mr Module Coordinators for CS1101C and CS1102X/Y! It is SO EXTREMELY EASY for someone like me who has spent 1 damn semester learning C programming to suddenly know everything about the JAVA LANGUAGE the next semester!

Thank you for assuming that I would have spent my holidays learning the Java language on my own for 0 modular credits! Only SMART people like you can possibly assume that we engineering students are so extremely enthusiastic about CS1102X/Y that we would spend time and effort to learn something that wouldn't directly help us to graduate! Only SMART people like you would know that we can learn in 2 weeks of self-study, something that students from other faculties took 1 semester! We engineering students are such geniuses that we might as well do our bachelors and masters and doctorates in 4 years! We're so smart that you should go eat your own shit and die! Wow!

There was this guy in the programming lab just now that was behaving so loserly. He kept kaopeh-ing about how unfair it is for us engineering students w/o any undertanding of java to be made to attempt such difficult lab questions, that he had no idea at all what to do and so on. C'mon lah, ALL of us are helplessly lost. Why are you being such a loser and whining and making a whole lot of noise. GROW UP man! But I'm only critisicing his behaviour. I too agree that it is unfair and a stupid mistake on the course coordinators' part. They should grade us in the end according to different standards, normal for those who are from SOC with CS1101J (J for Java) background and extremely leniently for those of us who are from Engineering with CS1101C background.

Sure they might argue 'Oh we'll just make the actual programming a very small percentage of the final grade, say 20%. What we really look out for is the ALGORITHM.' But look here buster. We have no inkling whatsoever about the java language! We can only think in lines of C! Naturally you would be testing us on ALGORITHMS that only make sense and are possible in JAVA language! Something that the C language algorithm is seldom capable of doing! We can't even give you a sound algorithm that would solve the problem!

calm down pangy....

Spent a bomb today $79.30 on 2 books. $40.30 for Advanced Engineering Mathematics by Keryszig and $39.00 on Data Abstraction and problem solving in Java : Walls and Mirrors by Frank Carrano and Janet Prichard. Since I didn't spend any money at all for 2 weekends, I'll spend my money on expensive and heavy textbooks. Need to survive these modules and get damned As...
