I got a new job... interesting and surprisingly challenging job..

It started with this Prudential guy who called me wanting to sell me finance plans/insurance. He called me out of the blue wanting to arrange a meeting, talk to me about financial planning. Then I told him I have no income for him to plan and that I'm looking for job.. won't be free to meet him.

Surprisingly, he immediately offered to find me temp jobs.

And he did!

Now I'm working for his friend. I'm installing Singnet broadband in pple's homes and I get to drive the company van. It pays quite well because I'm paid per installation and if the installation is smooth, each site can be done in half an hour.

However... if the installation is not smooth, as I've been experiencing, I not only get delayed, I also get pressurised to rush for appointments. Overall the amount I'm getting paid is quite handsome and it is a great experience.

So comes the end of another week. Been kept entertained whole week eventhough I'm not working for Aunty Alice's Maths Retreat, cos Sam and Clara are and they don't know the area and I meet them for lunch almost everyday.

Monday we went to parkway, we ate and talked half the afternoon away. Then went up to Giant cos Clara had to buy some stuff for her camp. Quite a lot of laffing and dallying then I had to get home and change to go watch Mr and Mrs Smith with Ade and Peiling and Christine.

Tues we went to Long John's in Bedok and we stayed there until 5... quite powerful we sit there for so long, talking and a bit of stoning.

We didn't have lunch together on wed then I borrowed the car for thurs and brought the donald duck comforter to frankel to exchange with Aunty Alice.

Thurs, the bunch of us also met up for ktv in the evening but I had company in the day already. Peiwen had tuition in eunos in the morning so I couldn't be so bad as to let her travel all the way home then meet out in evening or let her wander about in the east side for half a day. Picked her up from eunos mrt and went down to frankel together.

Sam couldn't stay for lunch, so dropped her off at the mrt then brought peiwen and clara for lunch beside Siglap Centre. Clara keeps having to buy stuff for her camp.. so after lunch we bought a few things from inside Siglap Centre and then it was time to drop clara off at the mrt. Sam and Clara had to go back to give tuition.

There was still lots of time before we had to meet in town for ktv so I took peiwen to parkway to play pool, as she suggested. Then after pool, drove back to return the car and take bus off to orchard.

We only met huijun at the meeting place.. everyone else couldn't meet that early yet. The trio went to centrepoint and we later met meiting (MeiTing) there and the piggywen wanted to have cake and my coffeebean card was due for redeeming so a cake was ordered and a drink was redeemed. The cake was wonderful! I think it's called... chocolate coffee cream cake? Name too long lah.. can't remember correctly haha..

Ktv with peiwen, huijun, meiting, sam and ron was quite fun! Clara didn't come in the end, don't know why. Huijun is incredible with fast or syncopated or irregular rhythms! Sam always refuse the mic and only sang very very softly along with the other girls. I fooled around and tried to sing Jolin with peiwen haha.. dao3 luan4 haha..

Then today, clara and sam are so happy that the Retreat is over, they wanted to go Bugis for celebration. Good that they remembered to ask me along heh.. I got there after them and clara was in the middle of her food therapy. After eating she had to buy more wet wipes for her camp... wonder why need so much... then because sam wanted to deposit her cheque for bookfair (finally) we had to go over to Rochor Centre.

We went shopping through Bugis Street 1st... wah... so many shops packed into that space! Now that it's renovated and upgraded with aircon, it's really a great shopping place. No need to go Far East liao! Bugis Street is even further east than Far East!

At 1st we just walked and looked, then we met huijun who was working in Bugis area and cut short the window shopping to get Sam to the bank. The area in front of the bank was being renovated and the cheque deposit box was blocked from access.. Good thing I managed to catch the attention of the tellers still inside the bank and the policeman came to figure out what we wanted. He was helpful enough to help sam drop in the cheque from the inside of the bank.

We walked back to Bugis Street and Clara entered retail therapy mode! Me and her bought some cds, bags and earrings.. cd - me, bag and earrings - her. It was already past 6... we really know how to lose track of time haha...

They wanted to watch Mr and Mrs Smith which was on at 720, so we had dinner, then we parted ways.

Recovering from lack of sleep...

Friday went to boulder a bit with youkai.. the harnesses were all out and reserved.. so no top-roping for us. Then went back home, met peiwen early to go Bedok buy some stuff for bbq at Mathteach.

We didn't finish all the food for the bbq.. I'm not used to having leftover uncooked food for bbqs. Mainly cos the last few bbqs I've been to are for ctw and my estimation of the food is usually on the spot.

Spent the whole night up and playing games in one of the aircon classrooms at Mathteach. Aunty Alice let us stay over and the whole crew stayed. What fun! I taught them how to play Minimize but they weren't too interested to keep score so we just had the 3 biggest scorers for each round drink water. Heh.. the usual..

Played also the Hunter game.. you know.. the one with night and day, pple voting who to kill off each day and at night the hunters (or bears if you play the other variant) will secretly convene and try to kill the detectives (the good hunters).

We all left at about 6 am.. all of us feeling really really tired and oily..

Fabulous bunch of people.. the atmosphere was great.. nobody felt paiseh or reserved about anything. And it's also really good that they don't give me the feeling like i'm the Big Brother, having to take care of things. Really wonderful pple.. have to keep in contact with these guys and girls.

Went to Marina South for bbq buffet with liren, ron, clara, Mei Ting and peiwen last night. Liren is one great cook sia! Mei Ting likes the occult, palmistry, reading faces horoscopes and the works. Ron's very disciplined about his diet. Clara and peiwen are like the Games ICs for our coming bbq and on top of that peiwen is like not scared die one.. got paper today still hung out so late with the rest of us.

I think the book fair wrecked my eating habits.. been having trouble eating lunch. Always lose appetite halfway through my food. Or maybe it's because of sleeping late and waking up late.

Book fair ended liao. Through our covert operations, everyone except me has met their quotas. I assisted some and they're offering to pay me back the commission for the help. Not bad lah, these pple are so nice and it's really enjoyable working with them.

Think we're going to go out on tues!

World Book Fair - Day .. I think it's 6 - 10 more hours..

Confirmed with Aunty Alice the method to solve for the 'Star of David' and I got it correct! Highlight of the day!

Then Aunty Alice gave 3 really tough questions and posed it to all the staff and also as preparation for the Maths Challenge. Super tough loh.. want to know can ask me abt it. Wracked my brains mans... shared an entry with 2 of the other promoters Yvonne and Liren.

The day passed like any of the other days, boring and no sales. The only fun time was trying to solve those 3 questions, which everybody got at least 1 wrong! The last one.

World Book Fair - Day 5 - +10 hrs

I'm blur liao... did I sell 6 units today or did I sell that on another day?

I getting really pissed off with my luck.. I'm done caring about selling anything.. people say they will come back but they never, cheapskates, egoisticos, time-wasters and free-loaders.

Spent most of the day trying to find the key to the 'Star of David' puzzle. Let's see if you can do it. Draw a big Star of David, then on each of the intersecting points (vertices and the intersection points inside, total 12 points) place a number 1 to 12. Get a sum of 26 using the 4 numbers on all the straight lines. No repeating numbers!

I somehow stumbled on the answer in 10-20 mins... but I have no idea how I did it. And there is a definite number pattern to solve it, Aunty Alice assures me.
