Exams draw nearer but at the same time I'm having more and more distractions. Argh.. gotta focus and get back into the chao bia mood..

Up till a week or two ago I was super into my work. Not that I had no difficulties completing my work or having no uncomplete tutorials but I was able to concentrate and work furiously for the whole day, breaking only during mealtimes and to watch the Simpsons and Cheers.

But now, I did an hr of work then lost my attn for the next hour. Ugh.. focus.. focus.. focus...

Today's complex analysis lecture gave me premonitions of doom.. stuff like partial derivatives, Laplace equations ... shiver...

Then during the DD lecture everybody was so restless! So noisy in the LT.. but nice Prof didn't shut us up.. he patiently asked if we understood what he was saying.. wah so nice.

During Making Sense of Society some ass behind me kept talking and talking and talking. He was leaning forward in his seat somemore... He's talking right to the back of my head.

Then Java tut was quite futile too.. but I roughly caught what he wanted to say.. it helps when you've tried the tutorial and managed to write down something before the tut. Ruyi looks hopelessly lost. She joined my tutorial cos her tutor cannot make it. Seems like my tutor also not so good.

Hhhmmm.. what did I do today..?

Slept on the train.. then when I woke up it was Derrick, my new classmate this yr, sitting across me. He asked why am I so tired but I wasn't really super tired.. I simply sleep on the train in the mornings.

Then on 96 I saw Pok, got off together and went to our LTs.

Surprise surprise, the previous lecture hasn't ended. Stood outside and waited. Bought a cup of hot hot coffee from the vending machine.. brr.. it was cold..

Lecture went by, explained this week's java lab assignment to Ruyi and Youkai during the break, hopefully they got it.

My lessons today was only this 2hr lecture and nothing else. Youkai and Ruyi were meeting their project subgroup to discuss the project and I tagged along, waiting for them for lunch company.

Ruyi was debugging her breadboard circuit through the whole meeting haha.. I was trying to help but since I had a different qn from her I really couldn't do much. Youkai was in both discussions. The other 2 guys Jin Sheng and Ching Yuh were into their Matlab tasks, looks fun to me.

Jiaxuan and Yanli walked by, they were on their way to collect some photocopied notes.

Ruyi's circuit was really getting weird, the logic gates were becoming illogical then she decided to go to the lab early because her 9V battery seemed to be running out of juice and I went along to see if she needed help.

Hooking up to the power source in the lab, her circuit behaved normally but still the functionalities had some problem. After checking each pin exhaustively, the problem couldn't be identified and it was 230, so I left, found Youkai and co, still at the bench I left them. They were going to continue working on their stuff till 4 and I had to go get my grub myself liao.

Got woken up by the thunder this morning.. not a good thing.. dozed off and woke up and dozed off and woke up.. ruined a night of rest.

The sky was a weird orange after i brushed my teeth.. eeks.. looks like a bad day ahead.. When I was small and when the sky turned reddish or some weird colour because of the setting or rising sun reflecting off the rain clouds, it always made me feel terrible.

But ah luckily today turned out just fine.

WOOT!! I completed this week's JAVA LAB on the same DAY!!

I'M KING OF THE WORLD!!

Did I mention i'm a workaholic, Java-phile and Java Phreak?

I was feeling quite miserable over the weekend, without motivation and direction. Don't know what to do, feeling like there's no meaning in my life, feeling like I have no purpose, feeling totally shitted.

But waddaya know.. come Monday, the beat came back to me, the pulse, the life, the motivation, the ZING! that makes me feel that all is good.

Most of all Monday is the day they release the Java lab assignment for the week and I just LOVE doing Java!! SO FUN!! SO INTERESTING!! SO CHALLENGING!! This is the kind of thing that I really look forward to, something that challenges my wit, even challenges me to think out of the box!

It's such a joy when I see that my code compiles, such a joy when I get the 1st testcase correct, such a joy when I get first 5 testcases correct and an IMMENSE feeling of ACCOMPLISHMENT sweeps over me when I get fullmarks from the Online Judge!

Looong day man.. Woke up, fussed a bit about the PE, read more algorithms from the net then had early lunch and left the house quite early.

PE for me started late, almost 20 mins late and hence ended 20 mins late. I think I wasn't thinking very straight and waste quite some time on one simple part.. but luckily I realised the easy way to do and finished the 1st qn in the 1st hour. Didn't have time to check and also trusted myself enough that it should be correct.

Qn2 was also done, I had a little time to test my code and I got runtime exceptions. Tried to fix it, but i didn't manage to find the problem before the time expired.

Then had dinner out and tuition straight after... shack..

Recieved a letter from the Traffic Police, I have passed Basic Theory on 1st try, yeahhh..

Before getting a good look at the letter, I tot it was from Mindef, telling me I'm assigned to some reservist unit liao. Heng ah.. only good news, not bad news.

Today also went to DD lab to debug my breadboard. Some really weird error crop up. My LED display would change when I close or open some switch that is not directly connected to the LEDs. Totally weird. Even the Lab assistants were baffled.

Then happened to board the same 96 out of NUS as Tanny, a nice coincidence. The little midget had a test and was going to go give tuition.

Got home and studied for PE1. Didn't give Terr much sympathy when he said he was going crazy over a girl. Since my bro might not like the world wide web to know too much, I shan't add more.

Soci test seemed easy enough... initial reaction to the qns was hopelessness, but on closer inspection and calm thinking, qn2 was really quite easy. On methods of research and there are only those few ways to talk about. Quickly penned my answer, half a page as they required, and read over the other 2 qns again.

Qn1 on family is out cos it specifically required on reference to the readings (I didn't read) so qn3 it has to be. Qn3 is on state and power and asked if the Singapore state was acting in the interest of anyone or group and cite 1 or 2 state policies in support.. Since they only want half a page ans I figured only can fit 1 example and I plunged into the squabble over spending money on the fine arts, read Esplanade.

Finished well before the time limit and even before the minimum time limit.


Had a change of tutor for Java. The new guy is a funny fella also. "Did er.. any of you solve the last qn? No ah? Then good.. I can show off a bit.. " Hahaha!!

He also kept pronouncing bottle as button. Can't really blame these Chinese nationals.
